Accessibility Statement

As of October 2026

To which website does this statement apply?

This statement applies to the website prochaska.eu, operated by Prochaska Handels GmbH, which includes an online shop.

We want everyone to be able to use our website effectively, including individuals with disabilities. For our online shop, the relevant requirements of the Austrian Accessibility Act (BaFG) apply. In terms of technical assessment and ongoing development, we follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.

How accessible is the website?

Our website is not yet fully accessible. While we have already implemented improvements, some barriers remain in certain areas. We describe these known limitations below and are working to eliminate them step by step.

On the pages that have been reviewed so far, the following elements are already functioning correctly:

  • You can enlarge the view in your browser.
  • You can use your keyboard to jump directly to the content. A visible border indicates your current location on the page.
  • The language of each page is specified, ensuring that screen readers (text-to-speech software) read the content in the correct language.
  • Images either include a description or are marked as purely decorative.
  • Product images are described, the quantity field in the shop is labeled, and prices are presented in a way that screen readers can interpret and read aloud.
  • Rotating image displays (carousels) stop automatically when you navigate into them using your keyboard, and they pause when you hover over them with your mouse.

What we have already done

Accessibility is not a new topic for us. Since 2025, we have been continuously improving the website, with a focus on making access more inclusive:

  • Training for our team (2025)
  • Addition of image descriptions (2026)
  • Reconstruction of the header and footer sections (2026)
  • Custom error page

We are continuously working to improve the technical aspects of our website. Since mid-2025, we have reviewed the extensions in use and implemented certain features in a more accessible way using existing resources. While this has allowed us to reduce existing barriers, we have not yet been able to eliminate them entirely.

Which content is not accessible?

We are familiar with these types of obstacles. If you get stuck at any point, we are happy to assist you via phone or email. You can also place your order by phone or email.

Pop-up window when the page loads

What is not accessible?

Upon the first visit, up to three windows open, stacked one on top of the other (cookie notice, newsletter, job advertisement). They are not clearly identifiable as windows by screen readers, and the button used to close them is, in some cases, labeled in English.

Accessibility Options: Use the Escape key to close the job advertisement window.

Links without a description

What is not accessible?

Some links consist solely of an image or icon with no accompanying text—for example, a logo, a customer account icon, or product and post images. In such cases, a screen reader will simply read out the web address.

Accessibility Options:Next to each product image is a link containing the product name, which leads to the same page.

Colors and contrasts

What is not accessible?

Green text and green buttons have insufficient contrast. They are difficult for people with visual impairments to read.

Accessibility options: Use the contrast or magnification settings on your device or browser.

Headings and page layout

What is not accessible?

On the homepage, there are several main headings, and these headings do not always follow the correct order. On some pages, the main content is not properly identified. This makes navigation difficult when using a screen reader.

Accessibility options: The “Skip to content” link takes you directly to the content.

English texts on German pages

What is not accessible?

Some labels are in English—for example, in the dealer locator, during image transitions, and on the contact page. A screen reader might read them aloud with the wrong pronunciation.

Forms

What is not accessible?

The contact form features English labels. The “Request a quote” window cannot be closed using the keyboard, and the focus does not shift to the form when it is opened.

Assistance options: Send your inquiry to us at sales@prochaska.eu or give us a call.

Dealer Locator

What is not accessible?

The dealer locator on the map has limited usability when accessed via keyboard or screen reader.

Support options: In the meantime, we would be happy to provide you with the names of retailers in your area—just get in touch by phone or email.

Moving content

What is not accessible?

Image carousels start automatically, and there is no visible stop button. Two background videos play in a continuous loop with no option to pause. The videos do not contain any important information.

Accessibility options: Carousels stop when you navigate into them using the keyboard, and pause when you hover over them with the mouse.

How this statement came to be

This statement was created in October 2026. The homepage, two product pages, and the contact page were evaluated. This process involved both an automated testing tool (axe-core) and manual checks—covering aspects such as page structure, forms, pop-up windows, and keyboard navigation.

Last reviewed: October 28, 2026.

We are improving the website step by step, focusing on barriers that hinder access to information or make shopping difficult. Areas that have not yet been assessed will be included in future evaluations. At the same time, we are raising awareness within our team to ensure that accessibility is given greater consideration when creating new content or revising existing material. We will update this statement as new assessment results become available or significant improvements are made.

Content not yet reviewed

Shopping cart, checkout, customer account, as well as the English and Romanian language versions. We will examine these areas next and add them to the list.
